got the mpc live 2 weeks ago, seems like a nice companion too ) i`m guessing the 404 will be the companion and the mpc the master now ))

i had a sp808, hated it for being nothing that the 404 or the mpc are but got around it. sold it eventually.

the 404 is a totally different machine, you won`t be waving your hands but there`s tons of ways you can preform. tell me a bit about your 808 performance, maybe i can advise you in some way ...

i`m pretty sure that`s just a sticker so it`s not even that

haha don`t worry, the ppl there are pretty friendly... and there`s other *ish* you can talk about the new mpc`s because they HAVE been updated, not only "oh, it looks like the old one", "oh, it feels like the old one", "oh, it`s the old one actually but it`s black and green now" and "it`s too pricy ...

there`s nothing to master, they had nothing else to put there and they thought a button labled "delay" would fit nice.

sp 404 is limited to 1gb cards... the 606 is limited to 512 for whatever reason...
look for cheap cf cards :p

press a pad and then turn any effect on. if you then press [remain], the lit pads will have the effect on and the unlit ones are dry. also true for the [ext source] button

by using the buttons and knobs on the 404 be more specific

i use other gear for that. the 404 is a great sampler but is limited in many ways... get a 202 cheap and it will do the trick for you, you might use it for bouncing, sampling and other stuff too

a mpc is also great but more expensive. you might consider getting one in the future
