Hey all,
been a user of the SP-808 since it came out. What I love most is the d-beam and how I can manipulate the effects with it, so I've kept using it. However, the zip disks are a big problem for me, and I've lost lots of info, so I'm finally upgrading to the SP-404A (the new one after the SX) What can I do that will be similar to the d-beam to trigger and manipulate effects??? This has been a problem for years for me. Help!
upgrading finally from SP-808, d beam help!

Re: upgrading finally from SP-808, d beam help!
i had a sp808, hated it for being nothing that the 404 or the mpc are but got around it. sold it eventually.
the 404 is a totally different machine, you won`t be waving your hands but there`s tons of ways you can preform. tell me a bit about your 808 performance, maybe i can advise you in some way
also, there`s a (weird) fx unit called air fx, from alesis... might be your kind of thing

also,
if you wanted dbeam you could have bought an sp-606 or an sp-555.
both have dbeam.
or you could have gotten an mc-909 or mc-808, both are like a synth that can sample as opposed to the sp-808 which is a sampler that has a synth, still both have the d beam.
