This seems to be my only problem as im coming from a MPC backround and i like to know the best method possible.Say i chop sumthin on the 404 into 4 pieces and there ready to record but i wanna add effects to them later and have 2-3 versions of each chop with diff effects.Do i have to resample each ...

Learn how the mark button works. you can mark the original sample to get the start and end points you want then resample for your first chop, and just repeat for the rest.
The mark button selects the portion of the sample you want to hear

im guessin you just got the sp and are still learning ...

is this possible? say i wanna chop somethin into 4 pieces,in order for my second chop to get closer to that start point can i start my resample right when that part in about to come up? or do i have to resample the whole sound length?

most people would say they never use it here.

Here's what I do.

First set it to 1/16 and set the first kick so you have a guideline to follow. SO for example in a 2 beat loop it be like this.

kxxx xxxx 1/16

I come from a MPC workflow and im having trouble with the 404 quantize.I tried almost every setting and it never comes out the way i want it.Is off the better option?? Whats the most popular setting around here? I do hip-hop/electronic production if that gives u a better idea.
