Best way to resample my chops w/effects!

Post by YouGots2Chill »

This seems to be my only problem as im coming from a MPC backround and i like to know the best method possible.Say i chop sumthin on the 404 into 4 pieces and there ready to record but i wanna add effects to them later and have 2-3 versions of each chop with diff effects.Do i have to resample each chop by itself, redo start/end points for each one when i get the effect setting i want? Anyway i can resample a pattern without having to re-chop each part? im still new to the 404sx so please forgive me lol.Any help would be appreciated!!

As the FX engine only runs one effect at a time, what you hope to achieve seems a little cumbersome. Indeed treating each chop with its own selection of pre-recorded effects will give you a lot to play with, but will it really up your swag meter that much? If yer resampling it'd probably be easiest to record yourself playing the chops, with effects assigned as needed, then re recording with a new effect slapped on. Then maybe even change it up by leaving one chop dry or some shit like that.

Anyway, you mentioned in yer OP that you feared having to resample the pad every time and then redo starts/ends. maybe the copy pad function would make this easier? and also when you resample, generally you don't need to reset the start point or deal with any of that BS since the resampler STARTS to record when you begin pressing pads yamean
