Can i resample only a portion instead of the whole sound?

Can i resample only a portion instead of the whole sound?
is this possible? say i wanna chop somethin into 4 pieces,in order for my second chop to get closer to that start point can i start my resample right when that part in about to come up? or do i have to resample the whole sound length?

Learn how the mark button works. you can mark the original sample to get the start and end points you want then resample for your first chop, and just repeat for the rest.
The mark button selects the portion of the sample you want to hear
im guessin you just got the sp and are still learning based off your question.
Read the manual all the way through. Its not that long and its not hard to understand. I know some people dont read manuals for anything they buy but you should definitely do it.
You wanna be able to make beats with your sp with your eyes closed and know what every button and combo does. The first step is to read the manual

If you got the SX model, you can use the copy function by holding FUNC + 2. Hit the pad you want to copy, hit the pad you want to copy to, hit REC.
Now you can mark the same sample in different places.

YES! I just got it LOL.Im coming from a MPC backround (still using) and its a whole new world.I was really excited about the 404 than had second thoughts but now im ready to master this piece and use it with my MPC's and my live beat sets.Its amazing what this lil thing can do.Imma post my first batch of beats as soon as im done.Shout out to everyone whos been helping me out on the sp-forums.
