i have a 505 and i use the lo-fi effect w/ drums and resample it w/ the eq effect or like what was said the isolator, it brings out the ringing

try a bit of eq, layer by resmplin' & decaying the length of snare by using one of them knobs(no homo) it should give it some sort of snap to your snare... peace...

had similar problem, try using the card banks, user banks use up the internal memory... peace...
