Lofi...when?

Okay, so I've been playing around with the 505 I'm borrowing (my 404SX comes in tomorrow) and I'm still not sure *when* to go lofi for a sample...


For instance...I got a loop that I want, in the end, to be lofi. But there's effects I'm resampling on it. Do I sample it perfect quality at start, apply effects and then resample to lofi as the last step? Do I sample in lofi and resample as lofi the entire time? What's the norm or preference of you lofi heads around here?

try different ways and see..

if you go lofi after effects, the effect is lofi as well, if you go before, the effect will be clean.

learn how they sound and then choose the right one for the situation.. each has its good points
