Yes of course u can use other banks. Midi Channel 2 is for banks A-E, and Channel 3 is for banks F-J. As I remember, but you can assign channel in SP and output channel in ableton.
You can Access all banks with a blank midi channel with no drum rack.
Macroses can hardly be useful here...maybe for ...

Re: Ableton Drum rack to control SP?
Why Drum Rack? If only for additional layering.
I use just simple blank midi tracks to get velocity and record sequences with my MPD32. Also Ableton has External Midi instrument to comfortably handle your sampler hooked up to the audio input.

Re: [ SPBB#183 POLL ]
Thanx...But its a little early, I am defending my diploma movie soundwork by 24 of july. But the worst(exams and stuff) is all behind.
I am gathering up some samples from my vinyl rips, my acoustic drums tape recordings(maybe) and maybe some from music collection, I hope i post them in 1-3 days.

Re: [ SPBB#183 POLL ]
Thanks for digging my stuff, thanks to all for paticipating. thanx to Lif for these samples. Was a difficult thing to find interesting combinations. Thanx to my SD-card that it contained some samples of my bass guitar notes)))
As for the poll. I find much decent sp handling but not so much beats ...

Re: HOW DO YOU GET VELOCITY?
In my opinion MPD gives more natural velocity feel with sp404 in comparison with Ableton Drum Rack.
Unfortuntely MPD18 have no midi out as for as I imformed. Correct me. This function was only in MPD16

SP404Sx can remember velocity in patterns. Made some with MPD32.

Re: SPBB #182 Poll
My vote for the first Lif beat.
OTBT is good. A little overdosed with vocals, but i like the overall atmosphere and the picture.
Also liked the bass groove of yung tamagotchi, had a familiar idea on bassline but lacked the time, was too obsessed with drums.
Thanks for comments. Thanks for digging my ...

i want to try my stuff here too. Maybe need a little more time.
Re: SPBB#181
If u have original source Waves of the main samples, please upload them. If the mp3's are original source - that's ok.
320 is a good bitrate, but not for resampling with fx. It could b ok sometimes, but sometimes it ruins everything.
Thank you!

Re: Resampling level overload?
Thank you. Useful answers
'You could adjust the internal levels (RTM) to see if that helps" - What is that RTM? You talk about 'start/end/level' button and knob 3?
Sorry, I ask question because my ears can play a trick with me on such equipment tht I have)
...I remember that in manual it was written ...

Resampling level overload?
Little maybe dumb question but my home sound monitors are weak to control such things. sp-404 Manual explanation is foggy. so.
When I resample drum one shots with EQ applied LCD always shows red(overload level) then I press pad, if I turn down to 90-100 it becomes blue but the resulting sound is to ...
