SP 404 midi sync issues

I'm trying to use this set up for live use:

DSI evolver (synth with sequencer)
Korg Electribe ER1 (drum machine / master clock)
Sp404 (loop/backing tracks)

every machine is controlled by its own sequencer in order to combine and mix different elements from different songs.
the electribe is used as ...

SP 404 vs 404sx ...worth the difference?

hi guys!
I'm an old sp user, from the classic sp 808 and sp202 , I use till now an sp303 and sp505.
I have other machines and synths and use a lot of computer programming , my genre is idm , experimental electronica and glitch.
I perform live using an elektron octatrack , computer freeliveset, but I ...

Re: What Dreams Sound Like...Sp505/Mpc1000

there are a lot of ideas in your mixtapes, why don't you take some parts and get them into songs... it would be awesome for sure!

Re: What Dreams Sound Like...Sp505/Mpc1000

So you compose the samples into loops on the mpc and then sample them into the sp to get that"raw "sound?
interesting...

Pitch function trick

Hi guys!
maybe everybody knows this trick to make the pitch function work as it should...and I was the only one who didn't get it..
I tried on the internal sounds and on samples and it works!
just sample the high pitch and then do the pitch function going from C1 to C, going down, not up.
Use the ...

Re: Info about the SM card

Hi!
put the wav samples directly into the main space of the sm, the sp use the folders for its own format files.

Re: Roland MS1 vs Yamaha SU10

awesome!
I didn't know about tricky using the ms1, I often read he was quite a mad guy that was not able to run any kind of instruments (samplers included..).
In the old tricky material sampling was done on a S1000 sequenced with logic.

the loop trick is really funky, ellaguru, I used it with my ...

Re: Roland MS1 vs Yamaha SU10

Thank you boombap!
I think I'll go for the MS1!
SP202 are quite expensive here in Italy, they go for 100 euro or more and imho is a quite high price for that sampler without the card.
Formo the specs the MS01 seems basic (speaking of functions) , good sounding but nasty!
Do you use it for a ...

Re: Roland MS1 vs Yamaha SU10

thanx guys!

@bommbap: so for you the ms1 is better...you own 3, you love it!
all in all the extra funcions on the su don't make the difference for you.
does the ms1 sound similar to the sp202(without efx)?

@ella: ciao! ti ho scritto..hai ricevuto la mail?

Roland MS1 vs Yamaha SU10

Hi guys!
I'm after one of these two lil sampler to add to my set up.
I own other samplers (SP505, ST224, MPC2000xl, S900) I'd like to have one the two because of the sound, and to play with sampling from old tunes or sampling loops i've done in my computer.
I owned the SU10 in 96 and it was funny ...

Re: samples to card

if you want to use the samples again without loading my advice is to copy (with the clipboard function) the samples from the user memory into a card bank.
doing the "save user bank to card" the sp does a backup file but you cannot use them from the card, you have to reload them in the machine.
