Heard Sunvox was recently ported to Android. Haven't had a crack at it, but it can get the job done, if you're into trackers...

Re: Best Ipad/pod/phone Beat Making Apps.

@IIIII, that's pretty sick. It's an awesome use of the accelerometer.

Has anybody checked out NanoStudio v1.2? It's incredible. Blip just gave us 16 instrument tracks for $5 In-app. This means you can potentially have 256 pads, 48 fx buses each with assignable comp, EQ, verb, delay/flange, and ...

Re: KORG KAOSS KP2

With just 6 seconds of sampling time at non-adjustable 44.1, I can't imagine you would even need to recall samples. It's more of a looper function than it is a sample player.

Re: Anybody mess with that Reason 5 KONG?

Haha, good to know. And I like the fact that that judgement comes from a former MPC user. Too often, I see cats say "Yeah, x DAW is comparable to x mahcine" w/o ever taking the time to sit down and evaluate each workflow. Thanks for the review, I'll be sure to stay up on your beats. And yeah, Reason ...

Re: Anybody mess with that Reason 5 KONG?

Nah man, I definitely like your non-existent MPC beats better, haha. The beat wasn't terrible for the lack of experience with KONG. I'm on Reason 4, and was curious if KONG makes 5 worth getting because that's really the only reason I have for upgrading. It looks dope though. Hope you can tame a new ...

Re: Akai Synthstation or MicroKorg

Lodger speaks the truth. Work with what you have. As of yet, there hasn't been any reasons to make the synthstation a must have. And to be honest, I'm not sure that there will be for producers/beatmakers who already have a midi keyboard. The Mobilizer, as jbl mentions, seems like a much more ...

Re: Akai Synthstation or MicroKorg

I would say there is absolutely enough full-fledged synth apps to make the synthstation a competitor of the microkorg. The way I see it is such:

A Microkorg is a synth with effects.

An iDevice is a synth with effects, a drum machine, a four track recorder, a DAW, a sampler, a modular synth, a ...

Very true. It becomes a habit you don't ever want to break.

But if you must, theres tons of sample and loop sites out there. Some free, most paid.
