Anybody mess with that Reason 5 KONG?

i have had Reason for about a year and never really used it. i did get the upgrade so i could start messing with that KONG and i really think it is dope. i made a lil screen capture video and posted it on youtube....the beat was like the 2nd beat i made with Kong. real basic beat.

i chopped a puppet show record called "Songs of the Letter People" which has some sweet sounds/breaks to sample. lol...now i am going to see what this Dumbo record has on it. cartoons and puppet show records are dope.

Nah man, I definitely like your non-existent MPC beats better, haha. The beat wasn't terrible for the lack of experience with KONG. I'm on Reason 4, and was curious if KONG makes 5 worth getting because that's really the only reason I have for upgrading. It looks dope though. Hope you can tame a new beast, Good luck.

you like my non-existent MPC beats too? dope, thanks man! lol....i can't front i did use to have a MPC (2000xl) years ago but nobody online has ever heard any of those beats. i know dude was talking about SP but put MPC...all good. Kong has got to be 10x better than a MPC...i am still learning but i am pretty sure it can do all a MPC can do. i would say yes to the upgrade, if your doing just a upgrade for Reason i think so, just for the simple fact you can sample into dang near every instrument. i approach the Kong like i do the SP...when i sample in i don't do edits, i just try to start the sample on beat so i can make stuff fast, so it can be fast like a SP can (for me that is) i do like Record too. on a whole i think both lack on a lot of things other daws have right out of the box. i am still learning it. i would not call me a Reason user yet, i am still knocking out beats on my Zoom Sampletrak too. (don't have a SP right now, which is rare.) as far as that video goes...yeah i was pretty much testing out the screen capture software, i don't really care about the beat.

Haha, good to know. And I like the fact that that judgement comes from a former MPC user. Too often, I see cats say "Yeah, x DAW is comparable to x mahcine" w/o ever taking the time to sit down and evaluate each workflow. Thanks for the review, I'll be sure to stay up on your beats. And yeah, Reason is a beast if you get into it. It was my first DAW but now I just use it a sound module, even then, it's really capable.
