Re: yo just a question for peeps who know
really, it varies...
if i did it the way u did i would throw (for verses) a 16 bar loop and a 12 bar or even a 20 bar loop in here and there. i think mc's that are used 2 a standardized form tend to get bored quick and say u did a 12 bar verse then a 4 bar chorus or break i would hit em with a 1 or 20 follow up...
@ the end of the day i usually attempt to rhyme to my shyt in order to see how it would feel as a song

It doesn't matter what you do, but I like to keep it unpredictable.
Intro - 4 bars
Verse - 12 bars
Chorus - 8 bars
Verse - 14 bars
Chorus - 4 bars
Bridge - 4 bars
Chorus - 4 bars
Verse - 16 bars
Chorus - 8 bars
Outro - 10 bars
Like I said it doesn't matter how many bars, just do what the song calls for.

Re: yo just a question for peeps who know
I really should pay attention to topics like these and actual song structures, but I'm usually like... what gives?!
As long as the main vibe is good.
I guess I should finish my beats more often, make sure they got heads and tails.

Re: yo just a question for peeps who know
yeah usually it's whatever for the intro, 16 bar verse, chorus, 16 bar verse, chorus, 12 bar verse chorus, outro...
chorus usually differs, I think 8 bars or 12 bars, you can start with a chorus too
if you're making beats for rappers, or beat tapes I usually set them up like this, you can switch it up once the rapper decides on a beat (obviously)
counting the bars on mainstream songs you can see the formula is almost always the same
