I dunno, I'm not knocking her hustle but I wouldn't say she's doing anything empowering to young women, or even anyone. This is the vibe in my gates right now. Summer evening, taking a trip down memory lane in my vinyl collection. I just went through some stressful ish with my fam and it kind of brought me back to my teenage years. My life was still messed up but at least back then I could just hop on a train downtown, spend all my money on records, lock myself in my room and blast them when I was going through ish. It was so much easier. lol Plus I could hide behind some big coconut headphones. I'm on the earbud tip now and it's not the same. I should buy some of those big ones again lol.

Frig, someone broke my needle and so I ordered a new one yesterday. Only to realize today that the postal workers are about to go on strike. I stopped playing records with the damaged stylus because I don't want it to mess up my records, so I guess I can't make any more beats until I get that ish in the mail...which I hope will be before like...august. My old needle, when it plays things, it sounds a little bit distorted. I was testing it on some Nas record and like the vocals sound like it's on the radio. I found another old cartridge that I had from years ago and when I tried it it sounded much better, but that needle was like bent up, I guess it got knocked around in it's box when I was moving and when I tried to straighten it out, it just broke right off.

Maybe it's a blessing in disguise because I ordered the Shure M97xe and people are like you hear frequencies that you never heard before so I'm sure that will only add to my beats. Although, I didn't mind what I was working with lol.

The last time I went digging (I'm a thrift store person lol), I got some tapes too so I guess I will have to use those now.

Bummer about the needle, but that sounds like a great reason to start experimenting with a whole other range of sounds sources. Movies, tapes like you said, toy pianos. Could be beautiful!
