try holding tapes near a magnet - like the one in old speakers. you can do bulk erasing that way.

Play the whole cassette with RECORD button down, without recording anything.
I don't know what chrome cassettes are :/

or you can just record new beats over top instead of erasing it then recording.

normally, when you use a 4 track cassettes recorder it is adviced to use chrome cassettes, cassettes wit "position chrome" to have abetter and during quality...

this is hilarious...almost 2010 and after 35years of cassette tapes, you found out how to erase them...not bad! :lol:
