Yeah, I think as long as you write down which samplers you've used, it's all good according to these rules.

From an artistic point of view, that composition works very good though. Sure it may not look extraordinary when it comes to the painting, but who cares? ;)

These are metal covers, also know as "face plates". The default SP404 face plate is metal/gray. You can replace it with one of these.

hi wax!
who is that sample track? it seems something electronic/ambient '70 stuff...

there are not drums samples, so could we use drum kits of our own?

Think I can't tell you who that is... *rolands watching* but it's late 70's ish...

I wondered about the drum kits too? ...but we're officially allowed to use ANY sampler... so pitch the break if you need to.

To answer some of your questions:

You should use a Roland sampler (SP or MV) as your primary equipment. However, if you can spice it up by incorporating some other samplers you might have laying around that's okay.

I don't think Roland minds since it will just show the versatility of using their equipment together with others.

( Sorry for the confusion, I should note I don't know a lot about music equipment myself so that's why I wasn't very clear. )

rules state that you can use whats on your card once you initialize memory. i think that means the stock drums that come with the 404??... but also there is a wicked drum break on my sample about 2/3 of the way in. diggg

yes, i listend to this. it's ok.
but you say something i never tought before;
in the sp-505 theare are the first 4 banks coming with the machine and you cannot delete them:they're protected and non unprotecteble. the first 3 are full of drums: can i use those?
i never thougt that for any other battle....

Are you sure? I am pretty sure you can delete those. It's possible on all Roland samplers.

Anyways, I would sort of vote to ONLY use the break for drums in those samples... as wouldn't say the MV or even the SP-606 have a huge advantage over the SP-404 and so on? The MV comes stock with loads and loads of factory samples.
