The thing that always confuses me is that you can get it into alcohol as well..

alcohol is polar which is the opposite of oils which are nonpolar.. and generally from what I remember of chemistry was that 'polar bonds to polar' 'nonpolar bonds to nonpolar'

So either there is some green magic going on, or pot defies the laws of the universe  ... or you know, maybe there are just some organic oils left in consumer alcohol from it's organic source

word up!

i've tried microwaving heaps of times, never worked for me

i get a bag of kiff/leaf and cook the shit out of it with full-fat butter. drain it, then use the butter to cook brownies/muffins

best high ever

I always prefered baking with hash... i jus sooo easy...
Once you got the butter, everything is possible. Muffins are my favs too.
One thing I don't like is the waiting until the high comes. Most of the times I smoke a j right after I ate shit... *buddha boost*

I don't agree on the microwave also... Once I made myself a choclate hash milk in the microwave with no effect, the other day I warmed shit up the traditional way and there it was..... BOOOOOM

reminds me of the time i made a cake with weed butter..

I'd been sitting around doing nothing all day, so my metabolism mustve been ultra slow - I ate a slice and nothing had happened in 2 hours... so.. I at as much of the cake as I possibly could hahahah...

1.5hrs after that... bam.. Was too much to be enjoyable really, I couldnt remember what I was doing/thinking for even a second

 yeah these stories are pretty common, hey

my one:

in high school, caught a train to Queensland with my mate. neither of us had eaten weed before. we smashed one brownie, waited 1.5 hours. nothing. ate another one. waited 30 minutes. nothing.

a friend had cooked them for us, we figured they must be weak as hell. ate a third.

the rest of that train journey was the most insane experience of my teenage years. i could not believe the levels of stonedness we went through. i watched history unfold on the back of the chair in front of me. the music in my headphones was like an intimate live performance from the artists

kinda wish i could reach those levels these days

another homie suggested this to me..

take a cup of vodka and put it in a jar..

take a gram and throw that in the vodka

let it sit for a few weeks

then sip at your leisure

sounds amazing.. i love vodka cokes and cheechin while drinking is great so both at the same time? but ive never tried it..

yeah man, it works really well! - I just dont understand why

Make sure you grind the weed up as much as possible, helps it along a bit.
AKA "Green Dragon"

I think I'm gonna chuck this bit of weed I have left here into a bottle of wine and let it sit for a month, maybe drop some blue lotus in there too... although everytime I've tried that the effects have been dubious at best.. But so close.. its very hard to tell if lotus does anything.. I've tried white, blue, pink, stamens, petals, stems, extracts.. and it's always.. something is there.. but society seems to have lost the key to unlock that plant.

the only thing i can think of is that the good stuff in the plant is oil based.. sticky resiney black tar stuff... i use rubbing alcohol to "water down" oil paint.. its kind of a solvent for oils? maybe thats the idea.. you use turpentine on enamel turpentine and alcohol are in the same family?

is it weird we are only a few steps away from drinking paint thinner

blue lotus huh... thats one of those herbals you get from the head shop right?

any comments?

no thread jack just a conversation right?

ive eaten brownies twice.. once i smoked a ton and was just straight wasted for the weekend... the second time i ate a hand sized batch of what was thought to be a weak schwag based batch... 2 hours past and i was just zoned a little.. by hour three it was like the ether part in fear and loathing las vegas.. oh yea.. and i was at work doing inventory where i was supposed to be concentrating and counting and paying attention... luckally there was pizza lots of pizza

The thing with the alcohol/oil thing - I don't know *why* it is working, in terms of chemistry - it does. yes. but I dont know why, because from what I know of chemistry, it's supposed to be non-polar bonds to non-polar/polar bonds to polar not non-polar bonds to polar...
and yet here we have with weed.. something that does BOTH (dissolves in oils/fats AND alcohol!)

Maybe I'll take a sample into the chem labs at uni and ask the prof. to do some tests

As for blue lotus, yeah.. its a mystery.. It is available in headshops, but the quality (and even if it is the right species) that they sell is questionable.. headshops sell that shit to make money mostly.

I'm convinced that there is something crazy about it that we don't know - you look at how often it is referred to in ancient texts/religions/etc, it is prominent in so many cultures.. but there seems to be some trick to activating it that we don't know.

Mixing it with alcohol and letting it make a sort of tea over a few weeks gets limited/minor effects of euphoria, clear-headedness. . enough to say 'yes I'm here' But not quite enough to make you think 'i am definitely high!'

Apparently the ancient egyptians did something with it + wine to make their brew.. But what i'm not sure.. maybe they fermented it? There are also images of them just holding the flowers to their face and getting high from that...
I tried snorting some ground stamen, but nothing seemed to happen.

Hmm.. maybe I should try using oil/fat on the lotus the same way it's done with weed.

i grabbed a kilo of fantastic blue lotus last year, think i've still got dude's details - i'll PM them to you over the weekend

i use it to mix with buds/tobacco. tastes lovely, smokes really well (better than passionflower). i've never broken through with wine infusion or extracts (got some from He.rbalistics) though, for me it's just a delicious mixable

you're 100% correct about headshop quality stuff - terrible

btw - i know about the Egyptians using it, but what other cultures have used it?
