The thing with the alcohol/oil thing - I don't know *why* it is working, in terms of chemistry - it does. yes. but I dont know why, because from what I know of chemistry, it's supposed to be non-polar bonds to non-polar/polar bonds to polar not non-polar bonds to polar...
and yet here we have with weed.. something that does BOTH (dissolves in oils/fats AND alcohol!)
Maybe I'll take a sample into the chem labs at uni and ask the prof. to do some tests
As for blue lotus, yeah.. its a mystery.. It is available in headshops, but the quality (and even if it is the right species) that they sell is questionable.. headshops sell that shit to make money mostly.
I'm convinced that there is something crazy about it that we don't know - you look at how often it is referred to in ancient texts/religions/etc, it is prominent in so many cultures.. but there seems to be some trick to activating it that we don't know.
Mixing it with alcohol and letting it make a sort of tea over a few weeks gets limited/minor effects of euphoria, clear-headedness. . enough to say 'yes I'm here' But not quite enough to make you think 'i am definitely high!'
Apparently the ancient egyptians did something with it + wine to make their brew.. But what i'm not sure.. maybe they fermented it? There are also images of them just holding the flowers to their face and getting high from that...
I tried snorting some ground stamen, but nothing seemed to happen.
Hmm.. maybe I should try using oil/fat on the lotus the same way it's done with weed.
Samples.
