Thanks drewzle. A bassline is prob the only part of the track I dont over think. I dont know why. anything else I go crazy thinking i should add more or tweak this compress that. The bassline always just comes right. If I dont get a bassline, then its the kick that is supposed to do the work. any bass would be overkill.

thanks man. I only do records and SP so i try to filter whatever bass in the sample i use, or chop us some bass hits from another part of the song. and of course there is always subsonic as a back up
if you have a mic, plug it into the 1/4 mic line in of of your sp, hum a deep tone(low to high) into the mic(beat box style) while you sample. resample with fx's, iso, eq, subsonic, drive filter & vinyl sim...
