yo your to kind my friend thanx for the tip why didnt i think of dat hahaIIIII wrote:i just came up with a new one while working on the battle beat. its simple so its probably used a lot... I resampled my kick with the sub sonic bass into all the bass 'notes' i wanted. the kick plays with the bass using only one pad, freeing up my polyphony and saving me the trouble of doing two passes thru each pattern to lay down bass and drum. of course i have some bass notes seperate as well...

with basslines, I usually just follow the track. Wherever the beat is tellin me to lay the bass is where it goes. I just feel it.

Thanks drewzle. A bassline is prob the only part of the track I dont over think. I dont know why. anything else I go crazy thinking i should add more or tweak this compress that. The bassline always just comes right. If I dont get a bassline, then its the kick that is supposed to do the work. any bass would be overkill.

thanks man. I only do records and SP so i try to filter whatever bass in the sample i use, or chop us some bass hits from another part of the song. and of course there is always subsonic as a back upDrewzle wrote:Juxt always has mad bass patterns in his beats, always different and suited to the track. care to drop any knowledge on bass patterns Juxt?
