I have the 606 with the velocity pads and I turn that shit off... Anybody else do this?

I tend to often turn it off on my MV as well, did so on my SP-606 too.

Personally I think the whole velocity sensitivity is overrated. I rarely use it, sometimes for hi-hats and snares, but that's it.

Of course, getting the best variation and dynamics in a beat does mean you should use samples at different volumes, but I am a bit of a control freak when it comes to this. It's incredibly difficult to use the velocity sensitivity and get the perfect dynamics in one go.

yea when i had my mpc 1000 and 2500, i would always turn velocity off.

i think its harder on the pads to get a full volume out.

use only when you need to. it can come in handy.

i have an mpc 500 and believe me you have to use an hammer to get the sounds come out in "nomal" level, but as you said before, i use full level on it and normal level to do expressive rolls(this is not bad indeed)...

allways full level on my 1k, any adjustments jus get done is the step edit.
