Faster Processing
I've been working off a 16 MB card lately so I've been sampling straight mono. Used to capture the main track in stereo, then selectively resample things down to mono, but the smaller card runs out of space quick when you sample a whole track in stereo. So... from there, all my individual chops and resampling go as long-play mono. I've noticed that working with the smaller card & smaller file size on chops and resampling has drastically increased the processing speed. So it's a bit of a trade off, but not really a big deal if your sound is grimy to begin with. Faster 505 processing time! Yes!
yeah, that's exactly what i thought. i posted somewhere in here about how the "system" processes much faster than anything from the pad banks or sequences, and when I shifted to the larger card (up to a 128 from 16) everything slowed down. i think it just scans the card before each process, and that's what causes the delay.
the smaller samples, etc., makes sense too.
