say i have a piano note sampled. i hit fx24 and turn the 3rd knob hard left (off). i hit the pad and almost simultaneously turn the knob back to on. now i have a short loop of the sample going, short and fast. i think first i turned the tempo down to 40(should've said that first), and i think it made the 'chop' that my djfx was holding a bit longer. from there i was able to pitchshift the sound with knob 2 down a bit with the knob setting between hard right and middle. it provided me with a short loop(unfortunately not the entire sample) and i was able to resample it on the fly by holding the og pad and quickly letting go and hitting it again, does this make sense? it only takes a short bit and pitches it down, but smoothly with no timestretching. has anyone been able to tune their samples down chromattically? ideally i would like to do this and be able to catch more of my sample... if i could get the entire thing, i suppose in a sense it would be true pitchshifting... ???
