You can do your drums anyway you want.

If the song structure is 4/4 then you can count the drum hits starting at the beginning of a measure. So the drums in your sample will be something like
Kick....Snare....Kick....Snare, that's one measure.
1 2 3 4
Now just put the loop in the sequencer and match the tempo to the sample tempo and put your drum sounds just like above, with the kicks on the 1st and 3rd and snares on 2nd and 4th.

you try the slicer trick. just resample with slicer on and then rechop from there.

I'm not sure if I know what your saying but it sounds like you may have to adjust the bpm.

also there are many different ways to handle a sample with drums allready in it. You just gotta put in some time and see what works best.

As a general rule of thumb I usually put in looping samples first and then adjust the BPM so it fits... then later add extra drums or whatever.

Sometimes it's better to chop the looping part into smaller pieces if it doesn't quite work out with the amount of measures in the end. It's difficult to get a looping sample that's exactly 4 measures for example... it's not impossible, but it takes time, a good sample and perhaps time-stretching and bpm-syncing.

Like Juxt said, there are more ways to flip a sample with drums already in it than time to write it.

Yeah, I must admit that you are totally right. Just today I've seen someone chop up a sample that had double kicks in the middle on a couple of samples that he chopped up (on a MPC using regular intervals/lengths obviously) and with some juggling and timing he was able to use those kicks to his advantage in a new kind of drum way.

Pretty interesting and inspiring stuff, but that's what creativity is about I guess.
