Just ordered 990 pro open back, $152.99 with coupon from MF. I realized after that they are 250 ohms, hoping that’s all good but have no clue.1616 wrote:I got the beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro, I am very satisfied.

Again, a lot depends on your setup, but most likely at 250 ohms they are going to require extra power from an DAC/amp. Without one you'll notice a lack of low end and volume.Kegeratorz wrote:Just ordered 990 pro open back, $152.99 with coupon from MF. Personally I think it's best to use headphones that are most widely used as it will give you a more universal sound since most people use Seinheissers and Audio Technica I would stick to those brands. They off a pretty neutral frequency response so you'll get a good mix.
I use the audio technicas, theyre super comfy

Sennheiser HD280

ideally for mixing .. as flat / natural / unbiased sound producing headphones as you can get
maintaining comfort . some studio headphones are bulky and soon make the experience tedious ( or just me).. hence why i use cheappies .
a good trained ear can use theory and somewhat overlook the headphone used
