lo-fi is the opposite to hi-fi
lo-fi means low-fidelity and hi-fi means high fidelity.
but in music and artistic way, lo-fi describes financial limitations (or just limitations). So, keepin it raw and lo-fi means keeping it simple and keepin' the sound dirty. That is what we do, with our sp and tape cassettes.
hi-fi would be something that the cats with huge studios are like.

I'm not sure what you mean by recording into your headphones.ok lets say i dont have a tape thingy...could i record it into my headphones to get a dirty sound first?
but there is plenty of fx inside the 404 to give you whatever sound your after. Wanting your sounds to be more grimy is never really a problem, wanting your sounds to be more clean is a problem.
