lo fi?

what exactly makes it defined as low fi and how do you do it?
becuase im making a side project of the some sorts and was just wondering
please help>

lo-fi is the opposite to hi-fi

lo-fi means low-fidelity and hi-fi means high fidelity.

but in music and artistic way, lo-fi describes financial limitations (or just limitations). So, keepin it raw and lo-fi means keeping it simple and keepin' the sound dirty. That is what we do, with our sp and tape cassettes.

hi-fi would be something that the cats with huge studios are like.

ok lets say i dont have a tape thingy...could i record it into my headphones to get a dirty sound first?

I'm not sure what you mean by recording into your headphones.

but there is plenty of fx inside the 404 to give you whatever sound your after. Wanting your sounds to be more grimy is never really a problem, wanting your sounds to be more clean is a problem.

ok im going to release to albums at once....
my lo fi joints...
and my other stuff on ableton live and sp-404
so yeah im pumped...
and IIII made me that album art...and it is sick!
