I've recored stereo into an interface with RCA/1/4' and sent things from an interface into a 404 then back.
I wonder if it would be better to use an RCA/unbalanced cable out of the headphone jack. I've been told 1/4' has more bass in it than RCA. 1/4'/Unbalanced would be ideal.
I'm mainly asking this because I have a situation...
I've been making an albums worth of songs on my 404 and 303 and can play them live with planned/improved effects, and I know want to record it.
The problem is that I want to pan and mix the samples since it will sound much better.
So I think I'll record the samples into a DAW, mix it then run it through the samplers back into DAW. But I'm used to hearing everything with effects on it like pitch and stuff so it would be odd to mix.
I also wonder if I would lose a lot of quality by first recording into a digital format then going through the samplers again. It would lose some of it's analog grit.
How would any of you approach this? With sound quality in mind.
