While i'm thinking "i'm a fucking producer because i have an sp-303, just like FlyLo." If you're still with me; cool. I would say my happiness overall is a solid 40%. I got rejected from the Navy because i was a bitch who threw a temper tantrum at 17 and got into some shit. I'm 19 now, just shy of a few months before turning 20. I'm fucking young, full of energy,i'm stupid, my music sucks everyone's music on this forum sucks. HEAR ME OUT. I bet whoever is reading this, is living in the comfort of their mom or dad's house, or reading off their iphone or android, or off their fucking google glass. You are just as comfortable as me. face it. A lot of kids on here have talent, but have no experience. Like absolutely none. You don't know true fear, so how can you express fear in your music? I laugh when i read user's "feedback" on the battles now. I get that most are learning and have absolutely no clue what they're doing. But they're too afraid to try and experiment, which is what hip-hop is built off of. If you're too afraid to try anything then stop pretending like this is for you. do something else, go to college and get a degree, and have 200,000 worth of debt. I don't need to validate my music to anyone, i could present a masterpiece and have some dipshit say "Nice groove, very compressed, but you need more samples" Fuck that. I suck but from now on i'm going to be miserable while i make music and i hope others are too. If you're comfortable while making a beat, just know no one will fucking care, why should i care? That's all i've really want to say, dust in the wind, fuck being comfortable, #sadlife. You should listen to my music because i'm the best.
I'd like to first qualify my position by saying I do not live with mom and dad, I do not eat oreos anymore and I'm turning 35 in a month...
That out of the way, I've gotta say your views are your own and you can hope whatever you want, but I think the main thing is that you feel you know what you need to improve. If you're old enough realize people are different, then you should also be old enough to realize your methodology is purely your own and doesn't fit anyone else like it fits you.
I'd also like to throw out that if you're not happy or feeling engaged when you're making music, you're doing it wrong. There will be a learning curve, no doubt, but learning and problem solving (which is all learning really is...it's discovering knowledge which helps you solve problems and understand that which was not understood before) shouldn't be so stressful to you so as to remove all enjoyment and happiness from beatmaking...otherwise, who the fuck would even do it? Even if you don't feel specifically HAPPY with a track, you should be getting some small sense of satisfaction from the problem solving that goes on while learning the craft.
I'm not going to hold your age or views against you in this regard or anything, but a bit more wider scope in your world view will help you on your way...if you're regarding comfort zone as a place where you're NOT learning, then I totally agree with you, just not the way you've portrayed it.

Just like any other craft, just noodling around with it a little bit each day, reading and checking out other people's works in that craft and just continuing to do that when you can, that time and energy put in will definitely show in your output and you won't notice it until you're well along your road as a producer and look back at your first steps. If you keep looking back early on, though, you'll just be discouraged...just make stuff, keep trying new things.
