i relisten to your track, how did you made those chops fit very well?
Re: Sampletrak Battle #1:
EG,
overall a lot of it has to do with trial and error and being to work through things that aren't working. originally, when chopping I was working to make a hiphop sort of track, but I really wasn't feeling what I made. So, I worked to just trigger a few sounds together and experimented with the filter settings. after resampling a few times, I dug for drums, and beefed up the kick and make a clap sound by filtering and layering a snare/resampling/pitching. From there, I used high and lowpass to do shelf eq'ing. there's one section I'm not too pleased with because the vocal is too low, but for the amount of time I could invest, I was satisfied enough. something that is really helpful with chops is to figure out where the center point is (starting chord) and make sure that your last chord ends at your starting point and then fill the middle from there....or at least that's how I worked this one.

Re: Sampletrak Battle #1:
nice one sw- reminds me of the work the dust brothers did on the Fight Club soundtrack. REALLY nice work on the fills.
Re: Sampletrak Battle #1:
cool, i was influenced by both yours and ellaguru's battle song.
what I had in mind was some classic drum n bass with better bass wobbles,
but ended up just making some trashy break core, it was a micro wave beat, so I might make a nother one. this was just a wild style free style battle on the 224. props dudes on your battle beats.

Re: Sampletrak Battle #1:
not sure if we should do a vote or call it satisfied with this result. SW or EG, would you do the honor of choosing a next track or setting up a vote if you want to do that?
Re: Sampletrak Battle #1:
you guys all blew me away. IMHO i say lets skip the vote and get on to the next battle!lodger wrote:not sure if we should do a vote or call it satisfied with this result. SW or EG, would you do the honor of choosing a next track or setting up a vote if you want to do that?
Re: Sampletrak Battle #1:
r- sorry i forgot you competed as well! you had a good track too! No disrespect intended! I'd second the motion. guys since r had the first entry, would it be ok to grant him the honors of choosing the next track?
Re: Sampletrak Battle #1:
yes, no voting is cool for me (even the word "battle" is just surpassed for me, maybe we could use "challenge"?) let's do another confrontation, i'm ok with thatritchrd wrote: you guys all blew me away. IMHO i say lets skip the vote and get on to the next battle!
