SP 555 wave converter and OSX Maverick

Does the wave converter work with Maverick? Just bought an SP 555 on eBay and realised that the last time I had one I was on Snow Leopard!

Re: D-Beam faulty?

Oh yes, you're right. I was having a flashback to my old SP808! Nonetheless, the Filter setting on the D:Beam just cuts all sound. Perhaps I need to have a poke around the Filter menu.

D-Beam faulty?

Hi,

How can I tell if the D:Beam on my slightly tatty new (to me) 2nd hand SP 606 is faulty?

The synth and triggering seem to work ok, but whenever I switch to the MFX control all sound ceases until I switch it over again. I suspect that one of the D:Beam lights isn't working. One light is ...

Re: SP 606 and Snow Leopard

Thanks mate, the japanese site has a Leopard download. I haven't tested with the SP 606 it yet, but it installed ok, so crossed fingers and all that!

SP 606 and Snow Leopard

Hi,

I've just picked up a 2nd hand SP 606 on Ebay. I had one briefly a couple of years ago, and loved it, but sold it to pay for a MacBook. I've now got one of the new 13.3" MacBook Pros running Snow Leopard and was wondering whether the OSX drivers on Roland's support page will work with Snow ...

I've seen something online about 750mb being possible, but can't remember where.

Installing 750MB Zip drive in SP 808

I've heard it's possible to replace the 100MB Zip drive with a 750MB one. Anyone done it or got any advice?

hi,
Had my first proper play with the 555 today. One thing i need to do but can't work out how is import my band's backing track set as wavs (1 song per pad) and then sequence them to play in order at gigs (we're a laptop and live bass outfit). Can 555 do this?

SP606 can, fairly easily. I think ...

Hi all,

Thanks for replies so far.

I’ve had an SP606 for a few months now, but not yet really delved into its possibilities – been too busy doing evening session work and my day job (not music related, sadly). I’ve picked up an SP555 over the weekend for £200, so I reckon I could sell that on ...

If they're wavs (or even mp3s) can't you just burn them to a disc, rip them back onto your pc and try again (obviously, best not to use WMP to rip!!).

SP555 and Kinetic

Does the SP555 work as well with Kinetic as the SP606 does? Also, is it as good a soundcard/audio/midi input device as the SP606?

At the moment she's just triggering the odd pre-sampled chord or sweep, but I hope to get her into using the DBeam, and maybe some vocal fx, etc. soon.
