Re: Does anyone uses the P606
I hear ya, messed with p606 for about 15 minutes, never used it again. I am just not a software fan though, but I am sure there is alot of features the p606 has if you took the time to learn it. I am sure you can use the 606 in other programs as a controller also.

Re: Labels To Look For!!!
Whatever label some of your favorite artists are. I remember way back when I bought records just to sample and not even like the music. You end up with shitty records and crap ass beats..

Re: Rookie Question
you gotta play around with it, sometimes you have to increase the number to get more chops or the certain ones you want. I sure do wish you could adjust end and start points after you auto chop.

Re: Quick 4 track question
pretty much any tape would do. Just remember it only records on one side and you cant play in a regular deck afterwards ( sounds all slow ). One good thing to do is record over original tapes not the blank ones, you get alittle better sound.

you might have to format your card hold function and press card utility and go to format card. see if that helps

Glad you like the machine. I myself upgraded from the 303 and love the machine. Dont worry about not having the manual it is not the best one out there.

Re: GONE DIGGIN!!!
theres so much music out there. its endless. the key is to find a place with good records. Like one of the artist you like and just find all the other artist that played together and it just grows.

Re: GONE DIGGIN!!!
stick to labels and artists, blue note, kudu. cti etc... depending on the sound look for years and dates. Jazz changes alot with technology and instruments so find artists that youy like and branch from there.

Re: Distorted samples after resampling
to get the cleanest possible sounding bass sometimes i'll just record the pad (or pattern) with applied effects into cool edit, amplify the volume... then sample it back into the 606 off cool edit... ur resample will turn out alot cleaner than if you let the 606 do it.
good tip, I have found that ...

Re: Distorted samples after resampling
Also try the low pass filter, the volume on it really accurate. I pretty much always have to resample a couple of times the get un distorted sound. I wish you hear the outcome before you record, but not reallty a big deal.
