When looking for rare stuff, I just look to see that I don't know the label
But...Canova Records, Vena, Greenstreet, Milestone(s) (there are two labels named that way ;))
I don't know all too many, though.

Whatever label some of your favorite artists are. I remember way back when I bought records just to sample and not even like the music. You end up with shitty records and crap ass beats..

Stax and Cadet are not so rare but hard to get. Grab something off those labels and you'll find rare gems and obscure bands.

I tend to go by the year a record was issued, not so much the label. But to know the labels is always good because some labels were on some Jim Crow back then and they kinda restrict artist to their creativity, I stay away from that boring wack shit.

Volt . whats the lable with the whale on it, cheif commoniwannalaya is on that. Unusual labels that you have never seen or know of. That "Philly Sound" lable is good. Sun records from memphis. There are good tunes on every label man.
