Re: Price for an 8000 for parts?
Hey Sere...
I’m always looking for extra 8000 parts to fix mine so I am interested.
What’s specifically wrong with your 8000 other than missing panels?
Can you post pics of it?

Re: anybody have the Roland DJ2000
I always wanted one and bought one on ebay last year for $200.
I use my DJ2000 more than my Denon DN-MC6000 mixer. I prefer analog mixers so I still have a Radio Shack Realistic 32-1200C mixer.

Re: What turntable do you use?
Technics SL-1200 all day since 1987... 2 of them plus a gold 1200.
If you can solder and like to tinker with music gear, you can easily mod your 1200s to solder the ground wire to the RCA plugs, add a removable power cord and RCA cords, add a no click on the pitch, add different colored LEDs and add ...

Re: SCSI-to-USB ?
Nope. It won't work.
I've got the SCSI-to-USB cable to only work on MPCs with an internal SCSI card reader.

Re: WTF
Have you tried using the Zip750 disk in a computer?
I've never had a 750 disk or drive go bad on me.

Re: Casio SK-1, SK-5, SK-8
I still got my SK-5 with a broken key ever since '87(?). Back then I thought I was Kurtis Mantronik making beats on it for friends to rhyme over.
There are hundreds of websites to mod/circuit bend the SK-5 including MIDI and longer sampling time.
One day I'll mod it.

Re: What's a good price for 808?
Honestly the price depends what's all on the 808.
Does it have the optional SCSI card?
Does it have the Optional digital outs?
Does it have the most updated OS?
Does it have the 808ex OS?
Does it have a Zip 250 or Zip750 drive?
Any other mods?
Does it have the original factory sound Zip disk?
Sadly ...

Are you sure about that?
I've used Zip100 discs in my Zip250 drive many times. In my SP-808, MPC2000XL, my desktop PC and in my external SCSI Zip250 drive.

Re: Thinking of finally letting my SP808's go
If you have the SP-808, do 2 things:
- Update the OS to the SP-808EX OS.
- Add the Zip750 drive to it. It's way more reliable than the Zip100 & Zip250 drives.
I did this to my SP-808 and then sold it like a dumb ass. I'm looking to get another one.
