Has anyone tried the fat replacement-pads for SP 404sx/a? Since, the SX has really hard pads I've been sort of tempted.

Re: how do i get this type of sound?
There's a lot of lofi-texture, hiss, and a sense of room in that track. I don't know how to nail it. It seems difficult to achieve solely in a digital machine like the SP, better to invite some analog reality. To me it makes sense to experiment with the following: Sample from vinyl or cassette tape ...

Re: 404sx and guitar loop ideas
Yo,
Alright, in case interested, I got some things sorted. First of all I was over thinking the timing issue, its more feel/flow that works. That being said I did manage to dump the PC for importing loops. I record with either looper (Deleay Lab or Jamman solo XT) while listening to the 404. Then ...

Re: tips for getting this lo-fi effect
I've been digging around for a few weeks now and trying nearly every effect on the 404sx but I can't seem to get this warpy lo-fi piano sound that I'm after:
(beat under the video at 4:45 - it should link to the right place)

Does anyone have any tips? I'm usually all for figuring out stuff ...

Re: How to Use 404sx as outboard FX in Ableton?
Btw. My Focusrite Forte allows it. It is possible thanks to the software allowing me to set up different mixes for the Headphones and the Main Outs. So, I can have the full mix in my headphones while using the Main outs for Aux sends to the SP.

Re: How to Use 404sx as outboard FX in Ableton?
Just googled a little. Don't really know if there's a workaround but it might very well be that they strip the entry level interfaces of some features which would have made it easier to achieve.

Hi,
I don't know the 202 and only used the sampletrak for a little while. Haven't touched it for a year I'm afraid. What I appreciated about the Sampletrak:

App for finger drumming
Hi there,
I'm pretty crap when it comes to finger drumming, but the other week I came across Melodics - which is sort of an educational video game which lets you practice finger drumming like Guitarhero. Appearantly it's been around for a year, but I haven't seen it mentioned here when using the ...

Re: Thoughts on buying a bass guitar
I got a used Mexico-made Fender Jazz Bass at pawnshop sale. I play it into a Tech21 Sansamp BassDriver DI. It's hard to go wrong with a classic "Fender" bass, either Jazz or Precision (P-bass). Apart from the cheaper Squire or Mexico-made, look out for older Japanese lawsuit-models.

Re: Balancing work and beats
Hi there group,
Little SP-time lately since I've been focusing on really getting up to speed in Ableton. This subject hits close to home and it seems you can wrestle this forever and just feel disappointed. God knows I have been complaining during the years. Don't.
Some strategies.
