tips for getting this lo-fi effect

I've been digging around for a few weeks now and trying nearly every effect on the 404sx but I can't seem to get this warpy lo-fi piano sound that I'm after:

Does anyone have any tips? I'm usually all for figuring out stuff myself, I love the journey, but this is driving me mad. I can't even get anywhere close.

Well, yes. An older SP might be more lofi. But there's still stuff to try with your SX. I've been on an SP-timeout for some time For the warbly/seasick thing you can try the flutter on the Vinyl Sim fx, fx16. The audio is grainy in a stretched kind of way, try to change the bpm of the sample playing (if I remember correctly). The high end being filtered away can be due to sampling with a low samplerate, But see what you get with the Lowpassfilter and EQ. Resampling stuff many times is never a bad idea for complex lofi textures. If you resample a sound ten or 20 times with different fx you can sculpt almost anything. Good luck!

I figured maybe more resampling could help yeah. I've detuned a few samples to good effect and also started messing with the DJ looper last night using the second control as it kind of has a pitch shifting effect if you are careful and precise with it. I guess I just need to keep experimenting...

I will try what you have suggested and see what I can come up with.

Vinyl comp on the 303 gets you pretty close to that sound, maybe it was bounced to tape along the way for some extra flutter.
