Re: Norway shooting and explosion

so far quite much of it goes a little something like this:
1.muslims bomb shit - it's muslims' fault because they bomb shit.
2.racists bomb shit - it's muslims' fault because they build up the problems that turn decent people into racists who bomb shit.
sicker than the event itself is a considerable ...

Re: RIP Amy Wnehouse

it's not really a tragedy but i don't think you can compare the two stories just because there's death involved in each of them. it's just damn sad that she died. m - just watched this and it kinda moved me. she looks really sad and desperate, like she's almost crying throughout each of the songs ...

Re: sequencing through resampling

@blavatsky: i do it on 505. there are many ways to do it, one of them is as is described by bukets: resampling your loops/chops, then resampling the same with drums, then with bass, then with blirp-wah-bawahwahwah-click until you're happy. i usually resample shorter loops, like 2 to 8 bars, put them ...

Re: sequencing through resampling

many SP users do it and i think it's the way to go with these samplers. it also kinda deals with the polyphony problems (you just resample your two layers into one and you have one voice instead of two).
happy sampling and welcome to the forums!

Re: yo,this is,uh,kinda crazy,check it

there's scroogle: http://www.scroogle.org/cgi-bin/scraper.htm
i don't know how it works exactly but i guess they use google engine but somehow filter the data sent to google so your search terms are not logged. there's also an ssl option. for all of us reasonably paranoid types.

Re: Which tracks to mono

thx mr.dipshit!
if anyone's interested, i found two great links on this matter:
http://www.beattips.com/beattips/2008/1 ... pling.html
http://www.beattips.com/beattips/2011/0 ... tereo.html
the first one is a tutorial for mpc but can be applied in sp sampling.
and beattips is a great website in general.

Which tracks to mono

i have a lot of questions these days:)
since it's an issue with SPs, which tracks do you usually make mono? i've read somewhere that it's better to put low-end tracks to mono, like kicks and/or basslines. i'd like to read some more informed comments on that, if anybody has any knowledge to share.

RedBull music academy video archive

i don't know if you people know this already but i thought i'd share this link: http://www.redbullmusicacademy.com/vide ... /lectures/ - there are some great things like artists breaking down their tracks, explaining some of their techniques, etc, and guests include Madlib, Oh No, Premo and many more.

Re: Found a nice post on fattening up kick drums!

thanks for this!
having two layers of the same break is a really good technique, especially in the SP world. i think some of those raw-sounding Jaylib drums are made that way. the trick is to not only layer them but to experiment with different effects on each of the breaks, like distorting one or ...

Re: Recording issue

it was the samples' fault... sorry for the confusion, it's embarrassing. i recorder two tracks and one of them sounded shitty because there was very little bass, my sennheisers extracted it but after recording it was almost zero. and the other track was ok. so sorry once again. peace.

Recording issue

hi everyone!
i've got a problem with recording and i'd like to ask for advice.
since i don't have an audio interface yet, i asked my friend to let me record my tracks to his mpc and export the .wavs afterwards. i thought this would help me avoid freq cuts and shitty sound that i get recording ...

Which audio interface?

i'm a complete noob in hardware stuff and i will confess that only today i realized that my recordings sound shitty because i use mono mic input on my notebook. hence, i need an interface. could you please recommend which one i should get? my needs are simple.
*i'm always broke and hungry, so ...

Re: Proper Protesting! Beat the police..

yeah, that's what u.s. is ridiculous about. sorry, maybe my english is not too skilled and the word 'ridiculous' shouldn't be used in this case:) i mean, of course you compare countries you've been to and so on. u.s. is not the worst country in the world, but in many ways it is harsher than some ...

Re: Proper Protesting! Beat the police..

i'd say that country, nation, place and inhabitants are very different things. country is a state, there's so much reason to hate it (just like any other state). nation is a concept invented somewhere in the late seventeenth / early eighteenth century, and imho it was a pretty damn harmful idea ...
