Why can't I loop more than 6 pads at a time? Do I really have to resort to making patterns? It's hard for me to believe I can only loop 6 pads on this machine. It's got to be smarter than that. I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.

Ill be playing acoustic guitar in a live setting and i want to have long patterns play to accompany me but will not have the free hands to manipulate sequencer, how long can i make a pattern? what are some techniques you may use in this situation? i'm new, thanks!

i'm pretty sure it has something to do with the pad settings, but i'd love to know what the deal is and why, so maybe i would have a better understanding of the machine, therefore utilize it's features.

when i'm programming patterns, and i set the length to say, 4, the length will sometimes in reality be 8. it will count all 4, then start all 4 over again while keeping anything i did in the first 4 and then anything i do on the second 4. totaling 8. i have noticed that this may have something to do ...

the manual tells me i can save up to 12 backups. please tell me if this theroy may be correct...

- lets say i fill all 120 samples in all 10 banks along with all patterns.

- now i want to program another 120 samples in 10 banks along with patterns.

- i backup all 120 samples patterns in all 10 ...

just got my sp404sx and love it! brand new to the looping/sampling world and have been playing indie pop for about 15 years but this is a whole new way of looking at things! especially in a live setting.
