Re: Help with backing up SP 555 data!!!
Thanks a lot for the reply. That all seems simple enough yet I am a bit helpless when it comes to some computer stuff. Could you tell me what I have to do to export them off the card. I have a memory card totally full up and I plugged it into my card reader and copied everything off of it onto a ...

Help with backing up SP 555 data!!!
Hi, I recently lost an entire memory card filled with loops and parts etc that make up my songs. Because of this I have now lost many of my songs. I bought two 2GB compact flash cards to back up my data onto. Basically what I hope to do is plug in a card with some of my music on it, then copy that ...

Quick question about recording a performance on the 555
Is there any way to record my performance(pads and stuff in sequence) and also record my voice through the mic input? I was able to sing while recording the pattern but it didn't play back. Can this be done?

Re: Is the 555 still useful without a computer?
Thanks for all the help. Everything is working great now. I still can't quite figure out the math for other time signatures while using the live capture and measure stop at the same time though. But nevertheless I'm getting things done finally.

Re: Is the 555 still useful without a computer?
I think I get it then. I'll try it out and post some results. Thanks for the help. Also, is there a way to set the measure lengths for stuff in 3/4 and other time signatures?

Re: Is the 555 still useful without a computer?
"resample the loop back into the loopcapture with the measure set right to the right bpm."
This sounds right but I'm not totally sure how to do this. Could you go into a little more detail on how to do this?
thanks

Re: Is the 555 still useful without a computer?
My process is something like this. I have my keyboard plugged into the mic line. I set the metronome, set the measure, and record a loop. Then I do this with another keyboard or guitar part etc. Then I try to play them together and they eventually stop syncing up rhythmically over time because they ...

Is the 555 still useful without a computer?
I I've been trying to use the 555 to arrange songs with all the separate parts on different pads. I can't get any of them to sync up 100% because I haven't figured out all the start/end point stuff. I don't have a decent computer to use with the 555 so I'm hoping I can solve all these problems on ...

Re: Saving samples
You just hit save to pad, press a pad, and then save to pad again.

Can you apply effects to a sample permanantly?
For example, if I have a sample of a short guitar part can I go to the effect bank, apply tape echo, and then save it there permanently so that when I play the pad, the effect is there even if effects are turned off. Sorry for the run on.
thanks

Re: help!(Recording ext/internal loops then quantizing them)
So I can't record a guitar loop that is slightly off and fix it?
Also, what is the quantization for then?
EDIT: Nevermind I get it now. Quantize is used to make sure that your whole song flows together with the different pads and everything right?

help!(Recording ext/internal loops then quantizing them)
Hey,
I'd like to know how I can record a loop whether it be external or internal, and then use the quantization feature to make them perfect time wise. Can I even do this? Any help is appreciated.
thanks

Is the SP-555 right for me?(description inside)
I play guitar, keyboard, and sing lead vocals in my band currently, but we are most likely going to split up due to college and what not. I tried buying a loop station to layer guitar/keyboard and vocal parts but had a hard time being able to switch to choruses. With the sp-555 will I be able to ...
