Imagine the 808 with an SD card instead of that horrible zip drive! I sold my 808 because of the slow and noisy zip drive. But it really did provide so much flexibility.

Re: if you must know the truth ..

I own a computer consulting company, the last thing I want to do when I finally sit to be creative is look at a PC. Understand how powerful, I do, but my 404 and my Martin is all I need to be non productive for now. Love simplicity!!

I can totally understand your desire to get away from the ...

@Jetson .. ¹00 my friend . I understand the portability .on the flipside .. computer issues are the reason I've never looked back in my equipment choice . all hardware with a notebook to do light final mixing touches

I've had my share of issues, to be sure! In fact, I've been one of those who ...

Re: if you must know the truth ..

Of course there are companies that really do put consumers first. Roland used to be one of those companies. But it appears to me that they are a bit behind in modern technology and innovation. Perhaps they suffer from that leader syndrome, where they were an industry leader, and they stopped ...

Re: Recording into iPhone Garageband?

The iRig is great, and the HD version has phantom power if you need it. I used it with Voice Record Pro and got great results. Don't forget the built-in iPhone mic is pretty damn good at close range.

It works fine with GB on iPhone too. Plus, you can capture sounds in the sampler and mangle.

Re: Maschine MK2 and SP404sx together

SP is midi in for triggering it's own samples from another device. I think what you want is a way to feed the audio from Maschine (which is really your computer software) through the SP efx. I have not tried it, but I would guess you need to start by feeding an auxiliary output from your computer's ...

Re: Girls get in the way of production

It's a weird thing, really. You'd think being with a partner who has the same taste in things would be great, but maybe not. As a songwriter, I sometimes wish I could be with another songwriter - but I think the creative part of making music rarely ever lines up between two people, especially if ...

ok, thought you wanted to know how to fill a Card with more than 120 samples (10banks) and a backup is the only way to fill up more than 120 samples... peace

Your answer is exactly what he was looking for, given how the SX works. I don't ...

Re: How do you collaborate?

I worked with a writing partner and we produced and released an album together using our macs, and dropbox.

He wrote and produced and arranged the songs, and I did all of the vocal tracks. He would dropbox me a rough stereo mix, I would import into Logic and add all of the vocal tracks, harmonies ...
