Yo! Finally getting round to trying to get midi happening and my 555 isn't doing what I thought it would. Dunno if user error or I'm missing something. Trying to setup the following chain -

Boss rc300 looper - master clock.
Sp555
Novation Mininova
Volca keys
Volca sample

The mininova doesn't ...

problem solved. changed memory card and did system init. seems the 555 is a fickle as everyone says about memory cards....

on a seperate note. is anyone using the 555 as an interface?

i dont want to use it as my main studio interface, just something at home to use with laptop sometimes.

Surely someone knows whether resampling a pad, Whilst looping it (NOT 'loop capture'. just a regular pad.) with effects for longer than 30 seconds causes any problems. The stutter things seems like an actual problem no?

i just picked up a used 555....

some problems.

are these just glitches that every unit has? or is mine ?i need to know a.s.a.p so i can return it if possible to the ebay seller....

the one that most strikes me as an actual problem is

when i resample a sample (set to loop) from pad 1 (for example ...

yeah, i'd thought as much....

i was hoping maybe they'd rushed out the sx hardware to rectify the redundant memory card issue, but that they were perhaps still working on it's OS to make more improvements than the one or two that they made over the original 404......

a shame. some little tweaks ...

pretty sure 'resample' on the sp-404sx automatically cuts external inputs and just records inside the machine.

p.s. i mean

pattern resample WITH fx.....

one of the coolest things about the microsampler....but the memory is pretty small, so if you do this a bunch of times with a view to building a song that way and having lots of contrasting effected loops in the arrangement, you run out of memory pretty ...

i love the 404.

i've got the original but someone in our band has had it on permanent loan for shows because i play guitar/keys mostly.

i just bought the SX version so we have two now and i can trigger some long atmospheric samples and loops etc, mess with the effects, and also have the effects ...

Can I resample a pattern With fx etc to one pad? Like I can on my microsampler?

the manual pdf is up on the korg site, reading it......im not really in the know in terms of specs etc...but from what i can make out the microsampler does EVERYTHING the sp-404 does, minus a couple of roland fx obviously, but it also does a LOT more.....going to try to keep my 404 and use both, but ...

yeah, glitch is cool, i was buzzing when i found it, but i was hoping there was something out there that stretched or changed pitch in realtime (that i could record automation of if need be, and it playback the same every time after that....) whilst still keeping time in ...

i love the sp-404 effects, is there anything vst based that will give me some similar control/sound to the sp's time and pitch tweaking effects (19 and 24 especially)..something i can record the automation of knob tweaks etc still......im not planning on ditching the sampler, i just want to get some ...

scratch that, i just found a similar thread that covers it...no pattern wav export.....

are patterns also stored as wavs on the memory card? as in a loop wav for each pattern? im guessing not......but would be nice to get everything for a song out of my 404 sometimes and chuck it in the pc to then add stuff, and it all be in perfect loops....if i have to record the patterns via audio ...
