drugs, huh? heard about them. some friends of mine in jail have too.

track 20 - It's a straight drop of a beat cut from an album - one of my favs actually. It's the intro to the album track - exactly as used on yours with little modification.

Then I listened closer to others of your tracks and ...

a previous peep had remarked on your first album - i think - that they would have liked more variation in your beats. that didnt worry me for the first two albums (which I keep on my mp player) - it does here when other folks beats are dropped straight in. The difference isn't helping.

that's ...

twinning 404s

hey,

am starting to think my needs can be met by not upgrading to anything - either roland or akai - and putting that money in another 404 and twinning them through a dj mixer (cross-fades) with a drum machine/minidisc on the side.

i don't have problems with laptops (ableton etc) but the idea ...

you don't need an mpc or midi or swing dials or anything to pull a good swing on sp404 -

drop that shit - sp404 will do it by itself.

lay yr main beats on straight 4 or 8s....

then change quantize to 16.3 to drop some swing notes - i presume that's what frantic is doing - any cheap drum ...

Who advocated Acid to be the be all and end all - i was comparing the speed of workflow - a cheap ass software to the sp404 -

I;m not that dumb to know you can't stretch samples to infinty and beyond.

yr saying the sp404 will do it better? wow

and the software happily permitted you to ...

trying to find out more about its abilities as a Midi controller thru the USB - can it be a control surface for Able ton Live (for example) - and not just the pads but all fiddly knobs?

if that was the go then this would be the shit over my 404. No comparison at all - but the manual seems a bit ...

I learned programming swing thru triplets - always had to find drum machines/trackers with triplet quantization divisions and never could figure out how that translates to those "swing"rotary controls on non-triplet machines/software.

anybody knows that gives?

50% means "nothing" or on the ...

wondering how many actually are doing this on an sp404-or 606 in performance. am assuming you would set up some basic pattern to play in bground (hats) and then rock all over it?

or are people really doing the lot - hats, kicks, snares, toms, crashes, kitchen sinks, freestyle?

I thought mpc was ...

when trying to make beat patterns - if yu create a pattern - and it's bpm - you can then slow down the bpm to make it easier to record the pattern - and then reset the bpm to the intitial creation bpm(??? - does this work?)
