twinning 404s

Post by crowman »

hey,

am starting to think my needs can be met by not upgrading to anything - either roland or akai - and putting that money in another 404 and twinning them through a dj mixer (cross-fades) with a drum machine/minidisc on the side.

i don't have problems with laptops (ableton etc) but the idea of crashing looms too large in mind for performance

anybody here doing 2 404s and mixer onstage - ?

what mixer are you happy with ?

i've seen four tet with 2 x303s

I think it would be pretty awesome, but can't decide whether it'd be better to chain one into the other, or have them on separate channels.

also another problem is you will need a different device to generate midi time code, and a midi splitter if it only has 1 midi output.

don't worry about midi. put one on either side of the mixer and play by hand. that would be fresh.
