Moon closer to earth than ever tonight.
Check it. Scientist are predicting a big one in Cali in the next few weeks. (earthquake that is).
Be safe. The tsunami that hit here in 64 happened on the last time the moon was remotely this close to earth.
Re: Moon closer to earth than ever tonight.
closest in 18 years is what i read. and the moon effects tides, not land mass. not saying it can't happen, sure hope it doesn't! On the moon itself I saw it last night and it was beautiful. in an office of confused and scared people it was possibly the highlight of our week.
it was reported that Japans quake broke a record for land mass relocation (or movement) record since we've had the ability to record such things.
edit: just read this; http://www.thecourier.com.au/news/local ... 07905.aspx

For sure that land mass relocation was serious. It affected as far as St. Louis that I know of maybe even further. For sure gonna be on the beach tonight
Re: Moon closer to earth than ever tonight.
moon's beautiful here on the east coast as well
Re: Moon closer to earth than ever tonight.
The moon does effect land mass/plates, it just isn't very noticeable because a plate is a single gigantic solid object, whereas water (in liquid) the individual molecules can move independent of each other so you get 'tides'..
While it wont move it a noticeable amount like the tide, it could still be a trigger to sudden plate movement/eathquakes -
earthquakes are basically just release of built up energy from where 2 plates are stuck grinding against each other against each other - whatever is holding them stuck breaks all of a sudden.. releasing all the energy.. If there's say 1 wedge of rock holding the 2 plates stuck, and alllmost enough pressure is being applied to break it, then a little bit of gravity from the moon could push things beyond their threshold
Hopefully US west coast is spared.. it would be devastation!

It was a little easier to see the rabbit in the moon last night. It did seem marginally bigger as well.

ya, the moon did look pretty big last night. Bright as hell too. Had to close my blinds just to watch the tv.

Re: Moon closer to earth than ever tonight.
it couldve been to do with the time you were looking for it.. the moon can't be in everyone's sky at the same time

not shure if its coincidence or the moon can cause quakes, but there was a 4.4 on vacouver island after the " super moon "
