so who witnessed that madlib show???
if not there will be footage for u dihard madlib fans. but sad to say he kinda flopped w/ his performance ,was talkin shit to the crowd. plus he was gettin booed . it didnt help that i played b4 his set. so u already know ur boy brought his A game.
but what amazes me is how ppl try havin excuses for there favorite artist. when they show up to the venue w/o preparing for a set, talkin most of the set no music playing. totally disrespecting whoever paided money to see a good show. i know some ppl probaly gonna catch feeling about this.
i love his beats and all definitely very talented. idk i just take the craft too serious so it kinda bothered me to see that. didnt envision my first time rockin with madlib to be like that.

Re: so who witnessed that madlib show???
its kinda interesting seeing this from an insiders perspective while standing on the outside. big ups dood.
Re: so who witnessed that madlib show???
There certainly seem to be quite a few artists around who view events as money rather than a job to bring the talent to.. it's sad.. Mostly they'll stop getting booked, but some names are just so big that it's like unstoppable...
Samples.
Re: so who witnessed that madlib show???
dollarllama - got any files/videos of YOUR set?! I would love to take a listen.
congrats, btw. even if Madlib dissapointed, you just upped your standing in the scene by like 10000% for just being on stage with him, I guess
Cool for you, bad for Madlib.

i'd pay to listen to madlib talk shit
i understand that he doesn't really like performances, if i were him i'd just quit doing them (but of course that's what brings in the money nowadays)
btw Dibiase, is the vinyl for your machines album still forthcoming or is it 'indefinitely delayed'?

i'm curious as to why he "flopped", could you expand a bit more? what made the show such a disappointment, and what do you mean talking shit to the crowd?

Sucks to hear man, although I'm not totally surprised by it. Respect to you though, probably widened your audience a lot with that show. I can think of a bunch of shows I went to see the headliner and came home a bigger fan of the dude who hit the stage before em. Peace.
Re: so who witnessed that madlib show???
I haven't seen Madlib, but to my knowledge his show is less performance based and more of a DJ-type show where he plays a bunch of exclusive cuts. A grip of fanboys swoon when he unveils a yet to be heard Madvillain joint, etc.
Still one of my favorite beatsmiths of all time, but strange to me that for his popularity he hasn't developed a stronger live game. I still wouldn't mind shaking his hand, though.
Btw, Dibia$e...looking forward to seeing you in NOLA next weekend with Samiyam (who is a hell of a performer, too). Can't wait...

Re: so who witnessed that madlib show???
wow man cant believe that happened too...
what sucks is he's like the current "underground" go to guy so why do some wack shit... break your shit up into two sets if u aint physically mentally ready...
i seen him before during the chrome children tour and he was kinda the same way where he barely looked at the crowd then he just did a few joints and was out...
at least you rocked it tho... thats what counts... and u can add his name to your rep of performance anyway... but i totally understand... if i got to do a joint with one of my favs and they were poop then id hand em a 2 ply and tell them to clean that shit up, lol
