Sp 606 effects unit

Post by netz »

Can I use the sp 606 as an effects unit?
eg... plug the 606 via send and return into my ecler 4 channel mixer ...then access the many effects on the sp 606 ....use one effect back into my chosen line of the ecler mixer...if so has anyone ever tried this and what were the results..?

thanx in advance

ILL SAY YES TOO. and its very simple, dont even have to try, the input is automatically effected, if not set it in the mfx assign. pretty good effects too, but if you want better effects get an 808. trust me, there are like 100 effects and presets on the box you can alter like 6 parameters but when you go to effects edit, you can edit like all the parameters manually like the isolator effects, you can change the lo, mid, and hi, then the eq, then the filter parameters with fx level, cutoff, resonance, lb boost, all that shit, its insane how much you can change the effects in the 808, so if you lookin for an effects box and a cool sampler, get an 808. but if you lookin to buy a 606, wait a little, mine will be on ebay after christmas. 200 bones!

Any device (not just sampler) with its own effects & audio through can do this, even if its another mixing desk or tape deck... Its a lot of fun messing around with chains of devices, especially for making noise & experimental music. But that's not to say the results will always sound that way.

If you've already got the gear, then just plug everything in to each other & see what happens- as long as its not CV you're plugging around and be careful not to blow your speakers.

^Damn, its a pity you don't like your 606, Spring. But a backup SP would be sweet...
