SP 404sx-- Record direct into 404 from a Keyboard? 16-track?

Hey people,

I'm about to order a SP 404sx and can't wait to get one...
But I've been searching for an answer and can't find it.

I make music on my 16 track recorder with my keyboard and drums. I want to make samples of my own music from my keyboard and my own drum beats from my 16 track. Both my keyboard and 16 tr. only support 1/4'' stereo inputs/outputs - The SP 404sx (as we all know) only supports RCA ins/outs.

Is the SP 404sx compatible with a keyboard? Can i plug my keyboard directly into the SP with a 1/4'' to RCA adapter to make samples of cords and notes directly? Can i play drum beats recorded on my 16 tr. directly into the SP using the 1/4'' to RCA adapter to make samples of the beats?

Does anyone else use the SP 404sx this way? I actually want to use it more for rock/pop music with a touch of hip-hop beats, rather than straight up hip-hop...

I'll simplify this question:

Can you record from a keyboard directly into the 404sx? I would use a 1/4'' to 2xRCA cable. And can you record beats from a multi-track recorder directly into the 404 by using the same type of adapter? Does anyone do this?

I just want to make sure that the 404sx is compatible with other units that use 1/4'' jacks by using a 1/4'' to RCA adapter... I know the MPC has 1/4'' ins/outs which is convenient, but I want a SP 404sx more than an MPC

yes, unless I'm mistaken you can definitely do this. I used to move samples from my 404 to my multitrack and then back into my 404 to mess with the pitch and stuff. Should work for what you're lookin' to do.
