All SP- Beat Tape (202, 404, 505)

Hey Everyone,

Here are some beats I worked on over the last year. It was a very hard year - lots of death - but making beats kept me even and solid. For real.

These were all built on the SP-202, 404, or 505. Some were multitracked, but most were recorded live from the box into the pc.

I used acoustic and electric guitars, synths, a circuit bent casio, and shitloads of samples. I hope you dig these.

can you remember which tracks used which SP? or were they all in all of them?

@ cartesia - yeah, they're ALL sp beats. i have a breakdown somewhere of which tracks were made with each box, but it is basically an even split of 404 and 505, with a few 202 tracks in there (the first one, for example is multitracked 202...another one further on).

very cool. synanthropes, behind the door, breathe you in......what are you running your guitar through in the first couple?

hey fanx for checking these out dudes. i missed that people had posted stuff....very cool, and i appreciate people digging this stuff.

adapter: for the most part the guitar is run into a behringer V-amp and then into the sampler, but on a couple, i just used the 404's internal mic in the same room with the guitar's amplifier at a good volume.

on another, i also changed the format from 'single' to 'phrase' (on the 505) to give the guitar that shitty, semi-stretched warble that we all love. or say we love. lol.
