Using SP-555 for live playback?

Hey there.

My band wants to use some keyboards/orchestration samples live on stage but our current keyboardist is struggling to play our compositions live.

So we basically want our drummer to control a backtrack and initialize it at the beginning of the song - with the click+backtrack playing in his in-ear monitors but only the backtrack going through the PA to the crowd.

I was taking a look at the Roland SP-555 and 404sx.

Any advise in regards to whether this will be possible on the SP-555? We basically want our drummer to hit or press one of the pads before start of the song, and then it should initialize the keyboard track.

I might be able to suggest something here, but probably need to know what keyboard you are using and how. I assume the backings are sequenced on the keyboard??
