SP-555 as MIDI controller?

Hey everyone,
I have a 555 that I use for its sampling and recording and stuff, but I want to start using it as a MIDI controller, specifically for Ableton Live. Does anyone know of a way to boot up the 555 or change the settings so that the controls/buttons/knobs only send MIDI messages via USB, and not to the samples on the machine itself? or does anyone know of any other good ways to setup for MIDI control of Live?
