VInyl Sim effect

Post by mta7388 »

So I read a lot on these forums about how good the vinyl sim is on the 303, and apparently its even better than the 404.

I myself don't use it that often, so what are some of your uses for it and how do you use it in your workflow?

i originally only had a 404 so i come from that.......but i usually have across everything with just the compression knob around halfway give or take some depending on the track, resample everything else so its ready to just have the vinyl sim comp on it when i wanna record out, just fattens everything up a little and makes kinda melt together

I usually use it basically as an effect. It makes things sound old and wobbly. The compression is really good too you can use it as a compressor for your drums.

so i've just copped a 303 after having a 606 for 5 years and a 404 for about 6 months.

i'm surprised and a little disappointed that the 303 vinyl sim effect cannot be tweaked live in the same way as the 404 and 606.

when adjusting any of the three knobs while on the 303 vinyl sim there is distortion. there isn't such distortion when tweaking the effect knobs on the 404 or 606.

am i missing something? does my 303 have a possible issue?

all such different machines. i will concede that the 303 vinyl sim compressor sounds better though.
